Short Bio

Fajar J. Ekaputra is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Data, Process, and Knowledge Management at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien), Austria. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, and a doctoral’s degree in Informatics from TU Wien, Austria, in 2018.

His research interest is mainly in the Semantic Web, Knowledge (Graphs) Engineering, and their interaction with Machine Learning approaches. Further, He is interested in applying such hybrid Semantic Web and Machine Learning systems in various application domains, including Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and materials engineering.

He has co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in various venues in the last ten years, including top-tiered conferences (e.g., ISWC, ESWC, EKAW, SEMANTiCS) and Journals (SWJ, IJSEKE, IEEE Access, Nature Sci Data), out of which 3 won best paper awards. He is actively involved in research communities as scientific and organizing committees for several international conferences and workshops, e.g., ISWC, ESWC, SEMANTiCS, and EKAW.
